Why We Scroll Even When We Don’t Want To

You keep scrolling. Even if it makes you feel bad. You still keep on scrolling. 

I didn’t know this. Did you? You can get addicted to the negativity!

When we feel that little hit of emotion, even if it’s an emotion like anger, disgust, or shock, it releases chemicals in our brain that make us feel satisfied for a second. That release is highly addictive and it’s why we can’t put our phones down and stop scrolling mindlessly.

It feels good but it’s part of our body’s stress “fight or flight” response and we are putting our bodies under that stress for a lot of the day. Which is terrible for both our mental AND physical health. 

HABITS CAN BE CHANGED.

There are two kinds of habits: conscious and unconscious. You can bring awareness and notice even the unconscious habits. 

Eventually it becomes super easy to access your subconscious mind but it takes practice. A lot of practice. Only 1% of people in the world know how to access it! Amazing, right? Welcome to the club, you’re about to be one of them!

Start with writing down what is working and what isn’t working in your day to day habits. Go through a day writing down each and every thing as you do it. What side of the bed do you wake up on? What habits do you enjoy, which do you not? What thoughts come up through your day? 

DO YOU KNOW WHAT ONE OF THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE HABITS IS FOR ENTREPRENEURS?

Do you know what the most destructive habits for entrepreneurs is? Scrolling social media.

Did you know that thinking positive doesn’t help? People tend to think they can just “think positive” and that’s all there is to it. Here’s an analogy for you:

Your mind is a glass of water. The negative thoughts are bits of dirt in the water. Now take a nice big glass of clean, fresh water to represent your positive thoughts. When you pour that into the dirty water, does the water become clean? No! The dirt is still there. 

What we really need to do is remove and REFRAME the negative subconscious thoughts.

After that, replace them with empowerment. You cannot just sprinkle some positive thoughts on top and think that’s going to create lasting change for you.

MOST OF US ARE ADDICTED TO NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND WE THINK “I’M JUST THIS WAY.”

Well yes, you’re that way right now. It doesn’t have to be permanent. You are not stuck being that way. 

The brain is a muscle and it can change, evolve, grow, and it can be manipulated into something much more empowering and beautiful!

When you do this intentionally you start to open the portal to all the ideas. You become inspired and it makes you confident and just as brave as you were when you first opened your business!

YOU HAVE THAT BRAVERY INSIDE YOU

It gets muddled and lost but you can reclaim it. Every day you have the opportunity to show up the way you want to show up. Every day is a new opportunity.
